Checklist

First Trimester (Weeks 1–12)

Second Trimester (Weeks 13–27)

  • Notify the PepsiCo Leave and Claim Center (PLCC) of your due date and the amount of leave you plan to take. See Time Off With Your New Family.
  • Notify your manager of your intent to take leave.
  • Request a breast pump through Health ACE.
  • Interview and choose a pediatrician. If you are enrolled in the MyChoice HSA, MyChoice Traditional, or MyChoice Copay Medical Option, in-network well-baby care visits will be covered at 100% with no deductible. To find a network pediatrician:

Third Trimester (Weeks 28‒40)

  • Pre-register with the hospital or delivery facility so you won't have to worry about it later.
  • Ask your doctor's staff if they will forward your coverage information (network ID) to the delivery hospital. They usually will, but it's a good idea to have your ID with you anyway when you go to the hospital, so bills can go directly to the claims administrator. You will be billed separately for your share of the costs.
  • Call your medical plan carrier within 48 hours of admission for delivery (certain lengths of stay will be automatically approved) if you are enrolled in one of the following medical plan options: MyChoice HSA, MyChoice Traditional, or MyChoice Copay. If you are enrolled in an HMO, contact your carrier.

Following Birth/Adoption
(Birth‒60 days after birth/adoption)

  • As soon as possible after birth, confirm the birth date with the PLCC at 1-855-PEP-CALL (1-855-737-2255) to avoid delays in Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits. For non-birth parents who plan to take Parental Leave immediately after the birth, you'll also need to confirm the birth date with the PLCC as soon as possible to avoid delays.
  • Within 60 days of birth or adoption: Report the birth or adoption of your child and add them to your medical coverage by calling the HR Service Center at 1-866-473-6763. At the same time, you'll also be able to change your enrollment elections for Dental, Vision, Life Insurance (Optional, Spouse and Child, and AD&D), Group Legal, the Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA), and Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA).
Access to your PepsiCo email may be disabled when you're on paid or unpaid leave. Keep in mind that when you return to work, you may need to spend time working with IT to reactivate your access. If you want to ensure your access remains active while you are on leave, talk to IT prior to your leave. Be sure to consider any contractors whose GPIDs may need updating while you are on leave.
